System Rebates

Everything (almost) You Need To Know About Getting Your Money Back...But Don't Forget To Talk To Your Accountant

Well...Waterline Alternative Energies has great news for you. When you install a solar system to your home, you can receive up to 60% of the project cost back in rebates!

We have compiled a listing of sample system statistics by state to show you exactly what we mean. Choose your state from the drop down menu below and get started!

Connecticut

State Rebate Programs
The state of Connecticut provides an incentive of $1.75/Watt for the first 5kW and $1.25/Watt for the next 5 kW
The maximum amount for this incentive is $15,000 and can only be used with systems up to 10kW

State Loan Programs
-Connecticut offers residential loans ranging from $400-$25,000 (1-4 family units) and from $200- $60,000 (multifamily 5 or more units)

Massachusetts

State Rebate Programs
The Massachusetts state rebate program provides between $1.00-$2.10/W DC with a maximum of $10,500 on system sizes between 1 kW and 10 kW DC

Solar Renewable Energy Credits (SRECs)
This performance based incentive offers $300/Mwh with a max of $600/Mwh

Income Tax Credits
Massachusetts gives a 15% personal tax credit with a maximum incentive of $1,000

Maine

State Rebate Program
The rebate program in the state of Maine offers a maximum of $2,000 for systems up to 100 kW

Community Based Renewable Energy Production Incentive
Maine gives a choice of either a 1.5 REC credit multiplier or $0.10/kWh. The maximum incentive is the $0.10/kWh or the cost of the project, whichever is less

New Hampshire

State Rebate Program
This NH program offers $1.25/watt DC for residential solar systems up to 5 kW with a max of $4,500 or 50% of the system costs, whichever is less

Vermont

State Rebate Program
The state of Vermont offers a rebate of $1.00/W DC for any system up to 10 kW
The maximum residential incentive is $10,000

State Loan Program (Clean Energy Development Fund Loan Program)
Vermont has a program to offer loans for residential photovoltaic installations ranging anywhere from $50,000-$750,000

Performance Based Incentive
For any net metered photovoltaic installation, Vermont gives $0.06 per killowatt-hour-Dependent on system performance

Rhode Island

Renewable Energy Fund Loans
The state of Rhode Island offers both loans and grants up to $750,000 - This amount varies by project and for residential homeowners, the loans and grants apply to only multi-family and low income housing

Tax Credit
25% of system costs are given as a personal tax credit. This is based on a minimum system cost of $15,000 and applies only to systems with a minimum module size of 24 square feet



Note: All percentages and numbers listed in the above examples are accurate as of 2/1/10. 

The 30% of installed project cost that comes as a rebate from the Federal government is the only renewable energy rebate percentage that remains constant amongst all states. Otherwise, rebates vary with each state and are continuously changing.

The amount and types of rebates available to each individual homeowner are dependent on geographic location as well as several other project factors. The rebates seen above from the Federal Government and the State Government are not always the only rebates available.
