Commercial Solar Incentives
Federal and State governments have made significant efforts via tax rebates, production incentives, low interest loans, clean energy grants and a variety of other funding vehicles to make renewable energy a cost effective and affordable investment for you and your businesses. Many of these programs differ from a State-State basis and vary widely on eligibility and deadlines, so Waterline Alternative Energies highly recommends you contact us directly for the most accurate and up to date information on your specific project. Federal Government:
The Federal Business Energy Investment Tax Credit (ITC) is applicable to all for-profit Commercial, Industrial and Agricultural entities. For PV solar installations, this incentive equates to 30% of the entire projects installed cost. Please see the below link for additional detail:

USDA-Rural Energy for America Program promotes energy efficiency and renewable energy for agricultural producers and rural small businesses through the use of grants and loan guarantees for renewable energy systems and grants for renewable energy development assistance. If eligible, this program can provide up to 25% of a projects total cost. Please see below link for additional detail.

Massachusetts

State Programs

Commonwealth Solar Program: Administered by the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center, this has been the primary vehicle for funding solar installations in the state. The Commonwealth Solar II rebate program provides rebates for Commercial solar installations up to 10kW in capacity. Please see the below link for additional details: CLICK HERE

Renewable Portfolio Standard Solar Carve Out (SREC): Administered by the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources, this incentive program is based on long term energy production. The program guarantees a floor price of $300/MWH of solar energy produced over a 10 year contract term, providing a significant additional revenue stream to your company and project. Maine

State Programs
Community Based Renewable Energy Production Incentive: This Pilot program, administered by the Maine Public Utility Commission provides a performance based incentive for Commercial solar installations. The dollar value and structure of rebate awards vary from a project to project basis, and systems up to 10MW in capacity are eligible. New Hampshire

State Programs
The state of New Hampshire offers a commercial solar rebate of $1/watt for system sizes up to 50 kW. The maximum rebate is $50,000.

Rhode Island

State Programs

Vermont

State Programs
Real and personal tax exemption for renewable energy installations. Loans for Wind Installations that are repaid by special assessment on the property. Sales tax exemptions

Utility Programs
Net metering at retail rate, excess generation applied to next month for up to 12 months.
